Wilde About Kingscote

This exhibition featured in the shop and Tithe Barn gallery in December 2015.

William de Wilde’s exhibition of paintings that have been made over a year at Kingscote Estate.

In September 2014, Kingscote Estate founder, the late Christen Monge, asked William if he would be interested in making drawings and paintings of life and locations on the Kingscote Estate over a period of a year.

“After he drove me around the grounds, I knew this would be a fascinating project as there are so many facets to the vision he had for the place. So in many ways my exhibition is a tribute to his memory,” said William de Wilde.

“I was also fascinated by the fact that the estate was previously part of the Gravetye estate owned and landscaped by William Robinson, a gardening hero of mine. His influences on the planting, especially of trees, remains a significant feature of the landscape,” added William.
